Mistakes

November 7, 2012 22 Days of Thanks 2012 - Day 7 I am thankful for my mistakes. Every mistake I have ever made in my life has made me the woman I am today. Some made me stronger, some made me smarter, some made me wiser... some were stupid, some were accidental and some were simple and innocent... whatever the mistake, it is a part of my life. I have learned from them and I have never let them defeat me. I have made many and I will make many more mistakes in my lifetime. However each and every one of them have made me, me. Without mistakes I think life would be pretty boring!   WARMUP: Row 500m 3 Rounds - 5 Burpees - 10 Walking Lunges - 10 Shoulder Dislocates - 5 Inchworms Group: Burgener Warmup & Toes to Bar  WOD: "Smoke and Mirrors" 21-15-9 - Snatch (55) - Toes to Bar - Handstand Push Up (1 abmat) (15:15) SKILL/STRENGTH Core Circuit 3 rounds not for time - 10 GHD - 10 Hollow Rocks  - 4 Turkish Get-Ups .

Group Playtime!

October 10, 2011 Well, that was quite the boring day. I had the day off from work today but hubs had to go in. I got up shortly after he left for work and picked a spot on the couch to have my Green Tea and watch Good Morning America... something I clearly haven't been able to do in quite a long time. Shortly after I was bored stiff. I did some cleaning and organizing that I had to get done and by 1:30 I was tapping my foot waiting for it to be 4:00 so I could leave for crossfit. I made dinner today too... or so I thought. A beautiful pork roast sitting in the crock pot with onions, mushrooms, carrots, squash and celery with a little white wine, garlic and chicken broth... sounds great right? It smells great too...  but when the power goes out and you have a crock pot meal going, it not ideal for cooking!! I lost power at 2:00 and it was still out when I left at 4:00... so no crock pot dinner for us tonight. Boo. Hubs is in the kitchen making talapia. So, the workout. It was....

Good Form

September 9, 2011 When I write the words "good form" on a blog mainly used as my crossfit journal immediately your mind should jog right to having good form while working out. I have talked a lot about that. Making sure to keep your butt under, your core tight, your hips rotated... and all that. Making sure that you have good form while working out is #1 for injury prevention and to assure proper muscle growth and advancement. Its important to have good coaches in your corner to guide you and instruct how to develop your skills and keep your form simultaneously. This morning I want to talk a little about a different kind of "good form." As we all know, this is the weekend that marks the 10th anniversary of September 11th. As I was returning from CFW this morning the morning show I listen to every day were playing the air time that they recorded from that morning when they first found out the towers were hit.
