Labor Day

September 3, 2012 Labor Day is usually the day that marks the end of the summer. Its the last weekend that people usually use their vacation homes, pack up their boats and have massive parties. Really... Labor Day exists for a much better reason. Labor Day was established as a National Holiday in 1894 to pay tribute to the working men and women in the Nation. I found this great quote by Samuel Gompers, founder and longtime president of the American Federation of Labor while looking up the actual date it became a national holiday and wanted to share... "Labor Day differs in every essential way from the other holidays of the year in any country. All other holidays are in a more or less degree connected with conflicts and battles of man's prowess over man, of strife and discord for greed and power, of glories achieved by one nation over another.
