Feeling "Lighter"

24 DAYS OF THANKS
#5 - I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for the fact that I can give to those who have become ill and are coping with their illness. Last night I decided it was time to go what I could... to give what I could to someone in need. I cut 9 inches off my hair to donate to "Locks of Love."

From their website "Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers."

I am blessed enough that my hair grows pretty quickly... why not give what I can afford to lose... sorry no pic of the "final cut" at this time... but lets just say... its short... and its dark... and its... vaaaa vaaaa vaaaa vooom!!!

I will post pics soon of the "new" me!!

This morning Hubs and I decided since we wernt at home to go to CFW and since we knew we were going to have a feast this afternoon that we were going to get in a workout. So after a cup of coffee we hit the street!!

We just figured we would do what we could and just keep going as long as we wanted! We started with a half mile jog. When we got to the end, he started doing pushups and I followed with 10 pushups, 20 lunges and 15 situps... after I did it once I decided to keep going for a second round. After that we decided to do the whole thing again, so another half mile and so on...

The next thing you know, we had run two miles... and completed 4 rounds of exercise! What a great feeling!! All that and a day off from the gym!!

I managed to get my hair into a pony (while it was teeny it still held) and felt great that we got in our own workout!! Hopefully we made CFW proud! We know we made ourselves proud!!

HOME WOD (for me):
