Another day...

... another dollar.

Today was going to be a vacation day for me. Hubs and I won a pretty kick ass prize back in June at Blogaplaooza when I decided to buy some raffle tickets for an overnight at a bed and breakfast up in North Conway. We were pretty excited for it and I called right away to book one of the only weekends we had available to do anything for the rest of the summer (man they fill up fast). We had decided that it wasnt really worth it to go up for ONE night so since one night was going to be free we would purchase a second night and make a weekend out of it. Thus, I took today off. Things worked out a bit differently than we had planned and I decided to go in for at least a half a day than be home to get things ready for when he got home from work.

Well, I wound up having a meeting I had to drive to that didnt make too much sense to go into the office than drive to, so I was going to just leave from my house. This would hhve allowed me to sleep in a bit and have a nice relaxing morning... I know as well as pretty much anyone else, my mornings arent complete without my 5:30am WOD and CrossFit Wachusett!! So off to the gym I went at my usual time with the usual 5:30am crew! Just the way I love to start a day!

So whether you are an early morning WODer, a mid afternoon WODer or an evening WODer... I am sure you know how I feel after a great workout!!

Today was pretty taxing for me. Whenever the WOD has running in it I feel like I am 5 steps behind (literally) through the whole thing. Today at least didnt have a "leg heavy" exercise to lead into the running, just ring rows and push presses so I was able to actually lift my feet when I went to take my first few steps out the door for the 400m run. That helped me out at lot. I am still really focusing on my breathing and trying to lengthen my stride as long as I can. Seems as if running has become a pretty big "goat" for me for some of the workouts.

I will keeping pushing however. That small hindrance will never keep me down. The only way to get better at something is to keep working at it. Every time I  get out there for a run I think about my form, my breathing and how much harder I need to work at it. I make up for lost time during the parts of the WOD that I am comfortable with, in this case it was the push presses that I was able to do unbroken. That is certainly something I have learned through the countless times I wanted to be frustrated at a WOD. Take your time through the things that you have more of an issue with and kill the things you know you are good at.... it will all even out.

For the THOUSANDTH time... practice, practice, practice!
